Innovative pop trio from Brazil. Formed in the late 60's by , and . They were heavily influenced by British rock bands like the Beatles, and were the first to introduce the psychedelic rock sound to Brazil. Os Mutantes ("The Mutants") are an influential Brazilian psychedelic rock band that were linked with the Tropicália movement of the late 1960s. Although the original line-up (Rita Lee, Arnaldo Baptista and Sérgio Dias; and later with Liminha and Dinho Leme) made the most notorious breakthrough for the group, it has gone through numerous personnel changes throughout its existence. They performed and recorded with many artists of this period, including Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, before Veloso and Gil were arrested and subsequently exiled by the military government of Brazil in early 1969. During this period, Os Mutantes was also threatened by the military government of Brazil of that time.

Many thanks for the single, this one I hadn't heard before. It is always great to hear something new from Sergio Dias and Os Mutantes... no, Arnaldo is not here with his brother, it is now Serginho's turn to keep the band alive and I only wish that he could receive a greater recognition for his great talent and for the beautiful work he has done along the years. The new single "Black and Grey" is also a great example of his endurance and I definitely hope that this time around a full album will really be released soon!
