Singer/songwriter from Miami, Florida, USA. Discovered by a local DJ while singing in a restaurant and was signed to Elektra/Asylum Records shortly thereafter. Wrote & performed the song "He's A Dream" for the 1983 film Flashdance, and has since composed original music for many movies and TV shows. She currently lives in Eugene, Oregon, USA.

Shandi's self-titled album is a fun and enjoyable listen. It's a shame that Shandi didn't achieve more success in her music career, as this album showcases her talent as a singer and songwriter. Fans of 80s pop rock will definitely want to give this album a listen.

Shandi and I sang together and became great friends. I was in the studio with Shandi while recording this entire album. She nailed every single song in one take, in one solid day of recording all her lead vocals -- including this killer vocal. If you're a singer or music pro, you'll get how stunning this is. Shandi has an amazing instrument and tremendous power and soul. Mike Chapman turned to me after she sang Walk the Streets and mused, "I don't think there's any point in doing it again. I doubt she'll do it any better." I agreed and added from experience with Shandi: "She'll do it just as well the next time and every time."

I feel really angry that Shandi was such an underrated artist with a wonderful voice and great songs. You see the injustice some great artists have in the industry and in their careers.
