Review by Bella Enveeus

The Tornados' album 1962 Space Age Pop is a captivating journey through the space age era. With its futuristic soundscapes and playful melodies, this album is a must-listen for fans of the genre.

The album opens with the title track, "Space Age," which sets the tone for the rest of the record. The use of electronic instruments and synthesized sounds creates an otherworldly atmosphere that transports the listener to a different time and place.

Tracks like "Love and Fury" and "Telstar" showcase the Tornados' skillful use of guitar and percussion, while "Red Rocket" and "The Ice Cream Man" add a touch of whimsy to the album. The instrumental "Jungle Fever" is a standout track, with its jungle-inspired beat and haunting flute melody.

The Tornados were an English instrumental group mostly active in the 1960s. The house band for pioneering record producer . Their original and classic line-up comprised (guitar), (drums), Burt (bass), (rhythm guitar) and (keyboards). Their instrumental material was composed and produced by Meek, and frequently had a futuristic sound, reflecting Meek's interest in electronics and sound manipulation. Although their first single "Love And Fury" bombed, the follow-up "" caught the public imagination and was a number one hit in both the UK and USA; they were the first British group ever to top the US Hot Hundred. The quintet enjoyed several more UK hits, though the original line-up began to fall apart when Heinz Burt left for a solo career as a vocalist in 1963 he scored one major UK hit, "Just Like Eddie" later that year and none of the original members remained by the time the Tornados finally disbanded upon Meek's death in 1967. Do not confuse with american surf rock band , famous for the track "Bustin' Surfboards".
