I once saw Wendy at a small club, in 74? She caught my reaction to a note she bent. After my wife had to leave early, she sat at my table and made herself at home. (it gets lonely being on the road, and I looked... human). We had a nice conversation. And then, it was back to work!

She opened for America back in 1974. I was standing in the arena about 10 feet from the stage. She opened with “My Love is All I know” and I was sunk. Been a fan ever since.

At my age, I am very fortunate to have lived in the 1971-1975 period, in which free-form FM rock and college stations featured DJs who could play whatever they wanted. A song as this could easily have been sandwiched in between anything from Elton John to Moby Grape to Procol Harum, or bands you've never heard of. An outstanding exposure to great music of all kinds. Wendy Waldman is such a raw talent.

This LP came into my office from Warner as a promo (clipped corner for those of you old enough to remember those)...and I was blown over - wondering if she was happy at Warner 'cause I wanted to get her to A&M. She's still singing today. Do go to Spotify and listen to more of her catalog over there. You can order a lot of the CDs direct from Wendy off her web site (even the Warner Bros ones)...always thought her recording of Vaudeville Man was better than Maria's (sorry Maria - just have my fav!)
