Scruffy, rough as houses, fucking great!!!

Leslie West ...gone but here playing like nobody's business
2023-04-12
The late Leslie West does play the guitar solos here. This versión was recorded in New York before the Glyn Jones produced sessions.

Rythem & Blues at its finest !!

With Leslie West showing pete how to play the guitar.

Awesome! Leslie West played the lead guitar

Buen solo de guitarra de Leslie aunque se acerca al estilo de Pete en esta canción.

Kick Ass!!!!! WHO!!

this is so Pete!!!! I love it!!

respect your opinion, but think your justification is, perhaps, a bit literal. Imho, the acoustic version and this one both have their own appeal. I like this one better though. Largely for 1.40 onwards :)

Kick's ass from the first note till the last!!

Sorry to be the odd one out here but this version just isn't as good as the one on Who's Next. It's far too 'busy' musically and its heavy rocking sound doesn't match the languid subject matter of the lyrics. Are we supposed to believe that Pete is rocking out while laying on his back in the newly mown grass and while the babes are sleeping?
I think they made the right decision in turning it into an acoustic number and giving the vocal to Roger. It matches the powerful pathos of the lyric.
