Review by Walter Nevin Jefferson

The album XIe Symphonie 1905 by Dimitri Chostakovitch, Orchestre National De La Radiodiffusion Française, André Cluytens is a magnificent masterpiece that showcases the composer's brilliant talent. The orchestral performance is outstanding, and the sound quality is impeccable.

The symphony is divided into four movements, each of which captures the essence of the Russian Revolution of 1905. The first movement is powerful and intense, with a sense of impending doom. The second movement is hauntingly beautiful, with a mournful melody that evokes a sense of loss and sadness.

The third movement is fast-paced and frenzied, with a sense of chaos and confusion that mirrors the tumultuous events of the revolution. The final movement is triumphant, with a sense of hope and optimism that suggests a brighter future.
