Review by Bagarean Alina Ingrid

Earl Conley's album Queen Of New Orleans is a masterful display of traditional country music. The album features 10 tracks, each one showcasing Conley's signature twangy vocals and heartfelt lyrics.

The title track, "Queen Of New Orleans," is a standout with its catchy melody and vivid storytelling of a woman who has left her heart in the city. "All Tangled Up In Love" and "A Picture Of Me Without You" are other highlights, showcasing Conley's ability to convey heartbreak and longing through his lyrics.

The instrumentation on the album is top-notch, with Conley's band providing tight, honky-tonk rhythms and twangy guitar licks. The production is clean and understated, allowing Conley's vocals to take center stage.

The middle to late seventies showed Earl Thomas as his most country as regards recordings and song-writing. His song-credits include "Smokey Mountain Memories" #13 in 1974 and "(This Ain't Not Just Another) Lust Affair" # 23 in 1975 for the late, great Mel Street. He adopted a more contemporary pop-country sound during the 1980's and 90's, but this song is a reminder that he is a great exponent of more traditional country music.
