Review by La Panadería de Chueca

The album Liszt Concertos No 1 2 Pour Piano Et Orchestre by Franz Liszt, Samson François, Constantin Silvestri, The Philharmonia Orchestra is a masterpiece of classical music. The album features two of Franz Liszt's most famous piano concertos, No. 1 in E-flat major and No. 2 in A major. This recording is performed by the legendary French pianist Samson François, with the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Constantin Silvestri.

The album is a perfect showcase of François' virtuosic piano playing, as he effortlessly navigates the intricate and demanding passages of Liszt's music. The Philharmonia Orchestra provides a powerful and emotive accompaniment to François' performance, creating a rich and dynamic sound that fills the room.

One of the standout tracks on the album is the first movement of the Piano Concerto No. 1 in E-flat major. François' playing is sublime, and the orchestra's sweeping melody provides a perfect counterpoint to his virtuosity. Another highlight is the second movement of the Piano Concerto No. 2 in A major, which features a hauntingly beautiful melody that François imbues with emotion and depth.

Born: October 22, 1811, Doborján, Austria-Hungary (present-day Raiding, Austria). Died: July 31, 1886, Bayreuth, Germany. Franz Liszt was a Hungarian composer, virtuoso pianist, conductor, music teacher, arranger, organist, philanthropist, author, nationalist and a Franciscan tertiary. He was a renowned performer throughout Europe, noted especially for his showmanship and great skill with the piano. To this day, he is considered by some to have been the greatest pianist in history. Liszt's musical invention went into territories which were then almost unexplored, in particular as regards harmonic research, as emerges from the late piano works, which led him to anticipate fragments of harmonies from the early twentieth century. His preference for program music is testified by the numerous symphonic poems he composed. Father-in-law to .
