The album Goatenburg Abominations by Styggelse is a brutal and unrelenting assault on the senses. From the opening track "Black Metal Supremacy" to the closing number "Satanic Oath," the band delivers a relentless barrage of raw and aggressive black metal.
The album is characterized by its fast-paced, tremolo-picked riffs, thundering drums, and guttural vocals. The production is intentionally lo-fi, giving the album a raw and gritty edge that perfectly suits the band's style.
While the album is undeniably intense and aggressive, it also has moments of surprising melody and atmosphere. Tracks like "The Rise of Satan's Artillery" and "Necromantic Revelations" showcase the band's ability to create haunting and atmospheric black metal.
