Scotty LeBlanc - The Fiddling French Canadian Scot

Review by Nicholas Barry

The Fiddling French Canadian Scot by Scotty LeBlanc is a delightful album that showcases the artist's mastery of the fiddle. The album is a mix of traditional French Canadian and Scottish tunes, and LeBlanc's passion for both cultures is evident in his playing.

The album opens with "La Gigue à Médée," a lively French Canadian tune that sets the tone for the rest of the album. LeBlanc's fiddle playing is full of energy and joy, and it's impossible not to tap your feet along with the music.

Throughout the album, LeBlanc seamlessly blends French Canadian and Scottish tunes, creating a unique sound that is both familiar and fresh. He is joined by a talented group of musicians who add depth and texture to the music, but it is LeBlanc's fiddle that truly shines.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Bonnie Lass o' Fyvie," a Scottish ballad that LeBlanc infuses with a sense of longing and melancholy. His fiddle playing is emotive and expressive, and it's easy to get lost in the music.
